LET US BEGIN HERE….

Along with being a highly successful business-owner in the Dance-Arts industry – Shirley has led a life filled with tremendous joy and moments of great challenge.

In her community of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada – Shirley served on city planning committees, and worked with the Surrey Board of Trade, Tourism Surrey, Surrey Teachers Association, and the Arts Council of Surrey.

As a director of a large, highly-recognized, long successful competitive dance-studio – Shirley greatly supported the arts communities both locally and nationally through her teaching, choreographic and mentoring contributions to the careers and lives of hundreds of young performing-artists, many of whom went on to dynamic careers of their own as professional dancers, teachers, and studio-directors.

Along with her studio, Shirley is well-respected in the Dance-Arts communities for her work as an Examiner (with the Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association) for both student and professional examinations and also serving on their Executive Board for many years.

During this time involved in the arts – Shirley’s husband became gravely ill and in 1993, devastatingly lost his battle with cancer (dying of a brain tumour.) Through her deep sense of inner-strength, she continued with life as best possible, caring for her 3 beautiful daughters (at this time, still in their teens) – as well as remarkably continuing to successfully steer the ship of her thriving studio and business.

During this life passage, Shirley felt a shift within her life-perspectives, and this seed now planted, would eventually lead to her make significant change from her flourishing Dance-Arts/Directorship career into new gateways of light. Along the way, the hurdles of challenge would collide within this life’s journey, but with her deep faith, she would continue to pursue moving towards her greater purpose.

A series of strange spiritual happenings, too large to be ignored, pushed her to explore more into the spiritual world and the Science behind it.

Hopeful she’d found love, once again – Shirley remarried. This union was not as it once appeared and ended in a disastrous divorce. The painful experience found her searching for help to alleviate her sense of brokenness.

But, with every moment of crisis, Shirley has held intuitive inner callings, and through this ability, has been able to sift through to find the silver-linings within each of her life’s challenges. Help soon arrived, and Shirley continued to walk through gateways of hope & promise, as they were each presented.

It was during this time in her life that she began to learn how her co-dependant behaviours were addictions, themselves. This passage led to Al-Anon, where she studied the principles and took part in various 12-step programs. Her natural vibration of teacher re-surfaced, and she eventually became a speaker, as well as facilitated small women’s groups – working with them on a close intimate basis, as a support-person.

Shirley realized these principles were key to living better lives, both personally and professionally. Her daily-life was now being nurtured back to its state of joy and well-being and she decided to deepen her studies – seeking as much education & knowledge in which to inspire, motivate and support the lives of others, in particular…women.
